SYI RECEIVES GRANT FROM THE
COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF GREATER FLINT

(Flint, Michigan, April 30, 2008) The Community Foundation of Greater Flint has awarded the Genesee Chamber Foundation a $40,000 grant for the 2008 Summer Youth Initiative (SYI) program. The Community Foundation’s grant comes from the organization’s Community Impact Fund.

The Community Foundation of Greater Flint serves Genesee County and portions of neighboring counties. The Community Foundation manages assets totaling over $130 million in 350 funds for a wide range of charitable purposes.

This grant will be a great asset in helping nonprofit and for-profit businesses offer paid seasonal employment to SYI participants, as well as the leadership training for area teens.
